Passive splitters are a convenient method of splitting a signal source into two outputs. They offer a low cost and reliable alternative to traditional distribution amplifiers. As these are passive devices, they do not require any power. All digital audio and video signal types are catered for which includes AES3, MADI, ASI, SD-SDI, HD-SDI and 3G-SDI.
The units are designed to have high output isolation and low insertion loss.
 
Output isolation is a very important consideration in critical applications. This high isolation allows the improper termination or a cable fault on one output to have almost no affect on the signal quality or amplitude on the other output.
 
Most splitters have a 6dB loss on each output. Fusion splitters, due to their advanced design, only have a loss of 3dB.
 
The outputs also have low phase error and are non-inverting.

The WS275B range of Passive Splitters employ a wideband design and therefore are compatible with both digital audio and video signals. They will operate with all data rates between 500Kb/s to 3Gb/s. These units can be used for AES3, MADI digital audio, and ASI, 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI digital video signals. The range includes both compact standalone units and a full array of multiple channel rack mounted units.
